Duration and Schedule

The total duration of the program is approximately 50 hours delivered asynchronously. The training is offered in French and English, fully online. Enrollment is available at any time.

Admission Requirements

This training is open to all applicants; however, proficiency in English is an essential requirement for employment. In the air transport industry, English is not simply an asset—it is the global operational language. Communications between crew members, pilots, ground agents, control centers, and passengers rely on standardized English terminology recognized internationally. For this reason, many documents, routings, codes, announcements, procedures, and official communications exist exclusively in English.

Certain sections of the course, practical exercises, and case studies are therefore presented directly in English. This approach reflects workplace reality. When working in the cabin, flight attendants must be able to understand briefings, read technical documentation, interact with international passengers, and respond to safety instructions—all in English. These situations occur daily, regardless of the airline or destination.

Academic Pathway

The academic pathway ensures structured progression from understanding the aviation environment and safety standards to mastering emergency procedures and onboard customer service. Learning combines theory, realistic simulations, and professional case scenarios to develop safety reflexes and a professional posture adapted to the aviation environment.

It is essential to clearly understand the regulatory framework governing the profession of flight attendant in Canada. Transport Canada is the regulatory authority responsible for civil aviation safety. It imposes mandatory standardized training requirements for flight attendants employed by commercial airlines. This regulatory training is delivered exclusively by air carriers and must be approved by Transport Canada in accordance with the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs).

It is therefore important to specify that the training offered by Collège April-Fortier does not replace the regulatory training required by Transport Canada. The latter remains mandatory, independent, and compulsory for any individual hired by an airline, regardless of prior education.
