Program Overview

The Transportation Logistics (LCA.FY) program at Collège April-Fortier is designed to train specialized technicians capable of efficiently managing all operations related to the logistics chain, both nationally and internationally. This program prepares learners to assume responsibilities related to supply management, inventory control, transportation of goods and passengers, distribution, and customer service, while integrating new technologies and sustainable practices.

Training Objectives

The program aims to:

  • Develop the technical and analytical competencies required for logistics planning and management;
  • Train specialists capable of organizing the transportation of goods and passengers in compliance with applicable laws and regulations;
  • Enable mastery of computer tools and specialized logistics software;

The program includes 17 courses totaling 1,275 hours, including a 240 hour internship:

  • Geographical Considerations in Transportation;
  • Applied Mathematics in Logistics;
  • Management Tools and Software;
  • Transportation Law, Contracts, and Insurance;
  • Selection of Transportation Modes;
  • Supply and Inventory Management Strategies;
  • Technical Report Writing;
  • National and International Transportation;
  • Passenger Transportation;
  • Operating Costs in Transportation Logistics;
  • Supply Chain Coordination;
  • Road Transportation Operations Management;
  • Air Transportation Management;
  • Customs Clearance and International Agreements;

Duration and Schedule

The total duration of the program is 1,275 hours distributed over five full time semesters. The program is offered in French and English, online and in person, on the Collège April-Fortier campus.

 

Admission Requirements

To be eligible, applicants must meet the general conditions set out in the College Education Regulations. A secondary level mathematics prerequisite (CST 4, TS or NS Secondary 4, or equivalent) is required (upgrading is available).

 

Academic Pathway

The program pathway unfolds over five semesters, progressing from the acquisition of foundational knowledge in logistics to mastery of complex operations and practical application during the professional internship. Courses progressively integrate theoretical, practical, and technological aspects of logistics.

Courses are offered online and in person at the Collège April-Fortier campus, located in downtown Montreal, near Sherbrooke metro station.
